The Sifting

Part of spiritual maturity is understanding that a new self is being created. This new self in Christ requires spiritual disciplines. God is going to sift out anything that is disruptive to your growth.

To sift means to separate or remove unwanted parts and identify what is important or useful. God will point out and pull out the unhealthy elements within you.

While this transformation is happening, your responsibility is to focus on the healthy things of God. Understand that you are working in collaboration and partnership with God during this transition.

As He develops these disciplines and removes toxic areas, you must not default to old mindsets and old habits. The systems you create in this season can allow you to have time for more important things, including time with God and implementing the instructions that He has given you.
